There's a new blog in town...

It's called fishbowlNY and it's another gossip blog about New York media. The woman in charge is none other than Elizabeth Spiers, who we all know was the founding editor over at Gawker. According to yesterday's NY Times article, they will be competing for readers. Which is totally wrong, since I read, like, a dozen a day.

Warmmmmm

My mom got me and Ryan some down booties from Restoration Hardware. They're soooo warm. I urge you to get some for yourself. They're currently on sale.

Whoops

Does anyone out there know how to take apart a Mac keyboard? I just dropped two small pieces of chocolate in mine. If they melt it's gonna be bad. Also, chocolate covered pretzels are my new favorite food.

Oof.

Ryan and I are looking at apts/houses to buy and I just have to say it's stressing me out!! We still don't know how much we can spend, if we want to stay in Brooklyn or go back to Manhattan, if we want to buy a townhouse and have tenants, or if we should get the chili or the baked potato (sorry, that's Wendy's). We're going to more open houses this weekend with his parents so maybe I'll feel a little better about this situation soon.

Chocolate!!!

If you are going to be in Manhattan on Sunday, from noon till dark you can go to City Bakery's Hot Chocolate Festival. There's going to be ice skating and snowman building and all the hot chocolate you can drink! They're located at 3 West 18th St. between 5th and 6th Avenues. Call 'em at 212-366-1414.

New York is soooo expensive.

Today I worked with Joe on a bunch of shoots for New York Magazine. We shot 3 New York City designers and will shoot one more on Friday. The three women today all made beautiful stuff that I so desperately wanted to buy, but of course I can't afford it on my measly freelance photo assistant salary. Here they are: A Detacher, Jutta Neumann and Anne Johnston's label "Martin" on East 6th St. between 2nd and 3rd Avenues.

There's a fucking cozy for everything these days...

Need a cozy for your banana? Get a banana bunker and it will stay bruise-free all day. Awesome.

A different kind of cozy...

Crafty friends, you should check out Charcoal Designs. This chick makes ipod cozies with neat embroidery. There are even some with our favorite movie references like "Vote for Pedro" and the Steve Zissou cozy.

Top Secret

Christina and I have been given the opportunity to work with the Neistat Brothers on a project of theirs. You may have seen their film iPod's Dirty Secret on the web. The project we're doing is going to be a crapload of work, but it'll be worth it when it's done.

But it's frickin cold!

Isn't it so deceiving when you look outside and it's so pretty and sunny and then it's freezing? I hate that!

New Gilmore Girls on Tuesday!

I know, I'm the only person you know that watches this silly show anymore. But I'll tell you anyway: there's a new Gilmore Girls episode tomorrow night and I'm excited about it. Here is a link to a New York Times interview with the show's creator and executive producer.

First things first...

Hi friends. I'm hopping on the blogwagon to give you all another reason not to work when you're at work. I'm finally putting up a few pictures from New Year's Eve. For some reason I never took a picture at the height of the party, so I don't have any photos that prove that people actually showed up. Oh well.
